Ingredients

  • 50g caster sugar (or 15 sugar sachets)
  • 4 egg yolks of the gallus gallus domesticus
  • 1tsp wild Madagascan vanilla extract
  • 1 tin of condensed milk, dented from a month in the Tibetan jungle
  • 4-5 tots of brandy

Instructions

The saucepan sits, resplendent on the hob. Peacefully it surveys its kingdom. But this tranquillity, is to be, short lived.

All too soon the heat, increases. Sugar pounces! Flanked by water, an oozing mass soon occupies this docile pan.

And on the horizon, rising like the sun, a herd of beaten yolks. A mêlée of ingredients in its shadow – jostling for dominance.

Poured into a jug, it cools. Only one can emerge victorious.

A new day dawns, for the mighty, eggnog.
